What to do before your stylist arrives
Fifteen minutes of prep is the difference between a good blowout and a great one. Here's the list.
Wash, then stop
Wash 10–15 minutes before your time, towel-blot, and leave it damp. Skip every product. Washing isn't included on purpose: having Jennifer do it in a kitchen sink costs you time and money and makes the blowout worse.
Find the outlet
A chair near a plug, a mirror if you have one, and window light if you can get it. Daylight beats the overhead bulb every time.
Clear the counter
Two feet of flat surface for the kit, with a towel on it to protect the finish. The kitchen island is perfect. So is a desk.
For makeup: a clean face
Moisturizer only, nothing with shimmer or a tinted SPF. Have the outfit, or a photo of it, within reach so the look matches.
Pets, kids, playlists
All welcome. The only thing that actually gets in the way is a dog who loves the dryer. Everyone else can watch.
Be ready at the start time
There's a 15–20 minute readiness window built into the policy, and it's there for real life, not for a second coffee. If the appointment can't start after that, it may count as a late cancellation. Damp hair at the door is all it takes.
